About Joe A. Ross School

Joe. A. Ross School is a school that was designed by our architects to reflect an aboriginal concept and design.

Through English and Cree academic programs, graduates from Joe A. Ross School, and then Oscar Lathlin Collegiate, prepare to enter university or community college. We also provide culturally based education through language programming and outdoor education from K-6 at Joe A. Ross School and a more in depth program at Oscar Lathlin Collegiate.

Our Cree Language programs, which include oral and written language instruction, begin at the Nursery level. Cree language programs are available from PreK to Grade 12.

Reading and Math Recovery Programs, are available, as well as SuccessMaker Basic Skills Development Lab for Kindergarten to Grade 6.

The school building continues to be maintained with pride and care. We have well equipped Mathematics, Science, and computer labs all run on our own servers.

Joe A. Ross School Library and Resource Centre is building on present resources. The Library is always a hub of activity as students are required to research at age appropriate levels.

The Counselling Centre has current educational and career information. Counsellors are available to assist students with personal, educational, or career exploration and decision-making.

Joe A. Ross School also continues to offer a wide variety of co-curricular activities to appeal to most students. Music, intramural and competitive team sports, clubs, student council, social activities and field trips are an important part of the school and involve a large number of students and staff.

All classrooms within the school are equipped with SmartBoard technology.
